2010 marks the 11th year of the St. Vrain Rotary Club Duck Race. This summer, they will once again release thousands of “adopted” rubber ducks into the St. Vrain River in an effort to raise money for local charities. The first three ducks to cross the finish line will earn their lucky owners a cash prize of $2,000, $1,000, or $500. A $5 donation is all it takes to land a ticket and adopt a duck.
This year’s event will be held on July 10, at Longmont’s Rhythm on the River celebration at Roger’s Grove Park. Tickets to benefit Longmont Meals on Wheels can be obtained from all Longmont Meals on Wheels board members, at the Longmont Meals on Wheels office, 910 Longs Peak Avenue, or at Clearwind Estate Planning & Probate Attorneys, 450 Main Street, Longmont.
